World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. A core focus of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.
Inadequate water supply and lack of sanitation is a major issue for many developing countries.
Water is a fundamental resource for all human beings. It is the most important aspect of life, and yet there are many countries that are facing water scarcity and pollution.
1.8 billion
people will live without access to safe drinking water and 2.6 billion people will live without access to adequate sanitation.
This means that one in every six people on this planet will have no clean water to drink or use for basic hygiene.
How to donate?
Water is a precious commodity. In 2020 alone, COVID-19 has caused many people to be displaced from their homes, leaving them with limited access to clean water.
